Stoneware platter featuring a design celebrating the strange Neapolitan supervolcano, the Solfatara! Also known as part of the Campi Flegrei, or Phlegraean Fields, volcanic complex, the Solfatara is an historic site of healing due to its contribution to natural hot springs, but also looks like a fume-spitting heavy metal landscape. Made in a light brown clay with underglaze decorating, carved and clear-glazed for food safety. Two holes on underside make for easy wall hanging.
